Friday December 12, 2008 Tweets from the womb with Java ME technology
In the "Why didn't I think of that?" category, we have this Java ME app that senses when a baby kicks inside a pregnant mom's belly and sends a SMS text message to a Twitter account each time. Ha! I guess you can't start to Twitter too young with Java ME, eh? See: Here's a quote: The Java application receives the sensor values and analyzes them. When a kick event is detected, a Twitter message is posted via the Twitter API. I chose to use Twitter because it is easy to initiate an SMS message to any mobile phone when a kick is detected. It also acts as a data log that can be accessed programmatically for visualization or archiving.I wonder what kind of tweet gets posted when the mom is going into labor? "Dad, start the car. I'm going to my first tweetup..." |
