Wrong way: Viewing iPhone as Promised Land for Mobile Apps

There are many incorrect views of the iPhone. One big misconception, as Stuart Dredge points out, is the mistake in thinking that the iPhone is the Promise Land (see #3 in his list).

See:

Wrong way to view iPhone

Here's a quote:

Most obvious among the many games
developers dumping Java as fast as
they can in the expectation of App
Store riches... [will see that] the
App Store is still a relative niche
in the general scheme of things.
This time in six months, expect to
 hear more companies talking about
 their cross-mobile-platform
 strategies. Especially if their
first iPhone apps sank without a
 trace.
And if your cross-mobile-platform strategy for your mobile app does not include Java ME technology... Well, let's just say that Stuart Dredge did try to warn you! ;-)
