Interactive Periodic Table Wednesday - January 3, 2007

Where in the world was this when I was studying chemistry? Take a few minutes and play with this interactive table of the elements, and then pass it on to your kids to help them with their school work. Think I must be missing the point... all it shows to me is that most elements look like indistinguishable lumps of rock, and therefore it's much easier to remember their symbol :)

It is the richness of the additional information beneath the surface that impressed me - many examples for each element, including photos of items made with each material, videos, sounds - a veritable cornucopia of information begging to be explored.
