Next generation Directory Market hots up, Sun's OpenDS 1.0 RELEASED!

The software market for next generation Directory Servers is really hotting up with offerings such as Sun OpenDS, ApacheDS, FedoraDS and not forgetting OpenLDAP.

Sun has just released it's first major milestone of OpenDS version namely v1.0, expect a commercial product offering to follow.   Installation couldn't be simpler with a 5-step GUI installer that allows you to create a new OpenDS LDAP server instance along with replication options.

Even running OpenDS on MacOS doesn't present a problem with Sun providing a handy status panel (found in /OpenDS/bin/StatusPanel.app)
