Would you like to be MORE productive when developing web applications? Then it might be worth checking out the Groovy-based web framework called Grails.
The power of Grails comes from Java (engine), MVC approach, ORM (Hibernate), Quartz, and many plugins that you can easily glue with Grails. Also, forget about XML configuration files. The default web server that comes with Grails is Jetty, but if you want you can deploy your app in any other container of your choice.

Have you ever wondered how to find out serial number of a server? Well, it's not as hard as it sounds:
cd /opt/SUNWsneep/bin
./sneep
What it does it simply reads the serial number from EEPROM
That's it!

For the last week, I have been doing a disaster recovery report for site LLG01. So far we have done the map of the server room (yeah 90 racks of servers) and the server dependency chart. Keeping on hard work and we will be finished by the end of this week!

First post, the history starts here...
It's been almost one month since I started my placement at Sun (not including the previous weekend job I had for the last year at Sun as well). Job title - Tier 1 Engineer. I have decided to share the experience with the outside world. So far it's going great, administration of Sun boxes throughout the world, sounds nice, doesn't it? :-)
Stay tuned!
