I have an aversion for talking in my sleep. So far it hasn't gotten me into trouble, but at times it has been a trailing indicator of my workload.
Last night my wife heard a noise and asked me to check on the baby. I immediately replied, "Just check her page views." My wife asked me what I was talking about and I replied again, "Trust me, just check her page views!"
There have been
other incidents where I have asked my wife if she ran a certain
report. It really is a trailing indicator of my workload.
We brought Karys home on Dec. 12th and my workload has really picked up
since then. Work really slowed down while my daughter was at
Lucille-Packard Children's Hospital for nearly two months after her
premature birth.

Do you have any funny after-hours web analytics stories?
I don't know if my midnight metrics stories are funny, but after heavy days of reporting/data crunching I do dream in spreadsheets. And sometimes my spreadsheets get personalities and we have conversations. It's a good thing it's only in my dreams. I don't much like those nights, they're very strange.

I don't know what this says about me, but when I get stressed at work I have nightmares about *grocery shopping*! They're not neutral dreams, they're very stressful and unpleasant. Usually the store is just about to close, and I HAVE to get milk, but they're completely out of milk, and the aisles get longer and longer and more and more creepily lit the faster I sprint down them....
I must like the group I work with at Sun, and the work I do, because I haven't had a groc. shop nightmare in a LONG time.
