Back in the saddle

Holidays are over... Surgery recovery is (mostly) over... And work is looking like it's usual crazy self. *way* too much stuff going on. Among them:

Simple question: Is there (and where is it) a fairly exhaustive set of Java code snippets for many of the simple functions for beginning programmers to use and learn from, such as: finding the largest of 3 numbers array search array load sorting an array date/time arithmetic nested if constructs System.out.printf exhaustive examples JOptionPane examples using Scanner to read/parse a file etc.... Thanks

Good to see you back James. I noticed that Duke is licenced under BSD and not gpl, good to see that. Only its still a bad fact that Sun has choicen for gpl for Java, the bigest mistake Sun could posible make. Linux and Linux users where the big problem.

Please don't make more stupid mistakes in the future.

Tell you what: that AJAX business can annoy when you want to copy a URL:

Notice that the URL for the documentation of javax.sound.sampled.AudioSystem (for instance) is just 'http://doc.java.sun.com/DocWeb/'.

Thanks for the http://www.exampledepot.com/ reference. Lots of good tuff. Much more could be there. I once saw but lost the reference to exhaustive list of printf examples and Calendar functions.

@Mm, You can better ask what is not the problem with GPL. Yes, thats one of the reasons not to use Linux, its for people who want to do things the hard way, command line and script. Linux and Unix people stay in the past. Windows people go ahead and look to the future, looking for improvement and more userfriendly things.
