Trebuchet's and beer

I just about fell out of my chair when I saw this one:

Thanks to Andy Gelme for pointing it out:

... every time I see it, I'm reminded of your fascination for trebuchets.

Not many advertisements involve using a trebuchet to launch all of the important beer making ingredients (including naked virgins !) into the sky, in the hope that it'll rain beer !

It was filmed in the city of Melbourne, just a few blocks away from where I'm currently working.

As far as I know, the virgins never returned :)

p.s The stag is the emblem for Toohey's beer, just in case you were wondering about that.

Nice one..

The 'making of' film is here,
which explains that half of the Trebuchet is real, half CGI.

Reminds me I had intended to send you a link on this (all real) one after a visit last October.
The worlds largest trebuchet .

We met one of the guys who made it and you will be able to identify with the 'health and safety' restrictions in terms of what they do with it versus what they could do with it :-) .
I have a short video of it in operation which I will try to put up sometime..

More here (including a cool time lapse of the build and some good Tebuchet links) .
