First PanamaJUG Congress
Yesterday I arrived in Panama City and Aristides (PanamaJUG founder and NetBeans DreamTeam member) arranged for one of the conference organizers, Gerardo, to meet us at the airport and take us to our hotels. Tomorrow afternoon, we will leave by car for Chitre, where the conference will be held.
Sun sent four of us to this PanamaJUG 2007 conference: Me, from NetBeans localization, Rodrigo, Chile Campus Ambassador, Fabiola, NetBeans Mobility QE, and Tomasz, NetBeans developer.
Today I walked around the old Casco Antiguo area of the city. There is a beautiful church with a gold altar. The Presidential Palace is also in this area. The streets are cobblestone with little tourist shops, several plazas and an abundance of restaurants. I also visited the Panama Canal Museum. I hope to see the Canal tomorrow and watch a ship or two go through the locks.
