JavaFX 1.1.1 was released last week. There are no new apis, but some good video related bug fixes. The full release notes are here.
Also of note, two new samples were added to the samples page: Solar System and BookPanel.

Still no support for Linux and Solaris?

While I find the Book-Sample impressive, I am still not happy with having to "trust" the code. Why do I need to trust it? I am trusting it by accessing the website, just like I trust YouTube's Videoplayer every time I visit the site. At least provide an "Auto-Trust"-feature so that JavaFX applets wont ever bring up that scary dialog again. Can'ts JavaFX applets run inside an "ultra-sandboxed" mode so that you dont need to trust them, since all they are going to do is display some animation or fetch some data?
The next strange thing is that loading the sample made a youtube-video's audio stutter that I had opened in a different tab. Not a good feeling. I am using Safari 3 on Leopard.

Hi, if you want JavaFX to gain traction you need to provide all the stuff Flash already provides. It would be nice to be able to choose JavaFX for the following:
- sIFR (http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/sifr/)
- Better detection & embedding like swfObject
- Peel back ad (almost like the books example)
- Multi file upload widget (like flickr image upload)
- Better media playback, http://javafx.com/samples/SimpleVideoPlayer/ still doesn't work right.
Those things can then be included in all the CMS and frameworks out there..
And, last but not least, get it up-and-running on Linux, Solaris, etc...
