JavaFX 1.1 has just been released with full mobile support. Several partners have also just announced their support for JavaFX, including LG and Sony Ericsson. You can get the new version of JavaFX and read about the partners at JavaFX.com.

Comments:

How do I deliver a JavaFX app to mobile phones that do not currently have a JavaFX runtime? Where do I get the JavaFX runtime to download to my mobile phone? Can I install the JavaFX runtime on my G1 Android phone? Which Mobile phones will currently run JavaFX? If I get a Mobile Service Architecture (MSA) mobile phone from Nokia or Sony-Ericsson will it run JavaFX samples with no modification?

Our goal is to get JavaFX preinstalled on to a variety of handsets. Some of the partners listed on www.javafx.com/partners have said they will be shipping JavaFX enabled handsets in 2009. We are also working on a developer phone that you can buy unlocked and optimized for JavaFX. Stay tuned for press coverage from the Mobile World Congress next week and for new news at JavaOne.

I'm afraid we don't have anything to announce at this time regarding Android.

Hi Josh,

Keep us updated on the JavaFX Handset at JavaOne 2009 and if the hansets will be available to developers, not attending the JavaOne, to purchase.
