And the winner of Jaymazing Race? Tom and Julius!
Both teams made it to Battery Park and the WTC site at the same time. But Tom and Julius were the first to find the final location on the map, John's Pizza on Bleecker St, and went on to win. Jojo and Ernest arrived 15 minutes later. All had fun, but there were unforseen subway detours due to track-work that made the race take a couple hours longer than planned. Here's the teams, which will double up as an introduction to my friends:

 Jojo and Ernest |
We had dinner at John's pizza and shared a couple really good oven-baked pizzas. Then we headed back to the hotel for a quick stop, and took the subway up to the Bronx for the game:
Game info: New York Yankees vs. New York Mets
Final Score: Yankees 8, Mets 2
Starting Pitcher Yankees - Chien-Ming Wang (W)
Starting Picther Mets - Orlando Hernandez (L)
Our seats were in the right-center field bleachers, which was the best place to experience being around die-hard Yankee fans. These guys love their team and heckle fans and players of any opposing team. You could feel the passion and intensity of the fans through the whole game.

View from our seats |
Best moments of the game:
- At the beginning of the game when the Yankees took the field, the bleachers section chanted Yankee player's names, and most of the players responded and acknowledged the cheers. We thought that was really cool.
- Seeing Alex Rodriguez hit a home run and see the Yankees win at home.
- At the end of the 6th inning, "YMCA" was being played and Yankees fan started pointing at Mets fans. We knew something was up but didn't know what. When it got to singing "Y-M-C-A", the Yankee fans sang (while pointing to Mets fans), "Why - Are - You - Gay?" Obviously offensive, but when you're in Yankee stadium and have been sitting amongst these fans for 6 innings, it was amusing. I don't know of any other place where people can get away with that.
We had lots of fun at the game because the fans were fun to be around (if you're a Yankee fan) and the team did really well. Our seats were literally bleacher seats, so it was quite cramped and uncomfortable without the back support. And getting in/out to the aisles were a chore. But you're so consumed into the game that most of the time you don't notice these things.
