Hat's off to Bose

LIke many, I leverage instant messaging for work. I turn on audio to know when I get a message. No need to share my business bleeps and boings with my cubicle-neighbors. On go the bose noise cancelling headphones. Off they came for a meeting and an unwelcome sound hit my eardrum. Crack, right across the headband. Dangling earpiece. Damn, they are only 7 months old. Next step was to hit the Bose web site to get the phone # for the store. Howard picked up and at first gave me a 1-800 number to call. After looking me up in the store database, he called back and said "bring 'em in, we'll do an in-door exchange".

An unofficial 60mph in a 45mph zone later and I was at the Bose store.

John: Is Howard here?
Store Rep: Are you John? He's out right now. Let me get them for you.
John: Cool thanks. I can't live without these things.
Store Rep: We'll just echange the whole case. Can we keep the box to send the old pair back in?
John: Actually, I prefer you keep the box. I have a place set aside in my (laptop) bag for the carrying case. Too small for the box anyway.

That was it. No paperwork. No other questions. That is great customer service and a great experience. I'm sure I'll be a repeat customer.
