Last time I looked at women's participation in the JCP it was in 2006. The list was not long but impressive in terms of the breadth and depth of these women's contributions.
It included Ekaterina Chtcherbina of Siemens, Linda DeMichiel of Sun Microsystems, Jaana Majakangas of Nokia Corporation, Pia Niemela of Nokia Corporation, Ellen Siegel of Sun Microsystems, Mary Trumble of IBM. All Spec Leads and Star Spec Leads of important JSRs. Some have added more JSRs to their spec lead portfolio since then.
Today on March 8, to all of them and others who have joined the community since then, happy International Women's Day. Their accomplishments are examples of how far women have come in this world and how they have influenced and shaped all walks of life including technology.
