Every year, this date is a sad day for me.  I will never forget the horrific attacks that occurred in six years ago today or the brave men and women who died unnecessarily as a result.

On September 11, 2001, AA Flight 11, AA Flight 77, UA Flight 175, and UA Flight 93 were hijacked and crashed by terrorists.  That day, 5 American Airlines pilots, 13 American Airlines flight attendants, 15 United Airlines crew members, and 233 passengers died in these brutal attacks.  Many other innocent people on the ground were also killed.

American Airlines pilots honored those who died today at the Allied Pilots Association headquarters in Dallas Texas.

In New York City people gathered at Ground Zero to honor those who died as a result of the attacks.

Let us never forget those who lost their lives that day.

CNN has posted the names of the crew members, passengers, and other victims who died that day:

Comments:

What about all the people who have died since? A lot more people (a million? more? who knows?) have died since that horrible event, all in the name of what? Has it achieved anything at all? I sure don't see it :-(
