Create Gnome 2.8 Environment on Your Desktop
It's easy way to use Garnome to create Gnome environment on your desktop. For Gnome 2.8, the related Garnome start package is located at ftp://cipherfunk.org/pub/tarballs/garnome/garnome-2.8.0.tar.bz2.

During the build process, several steps are elemental.

1. follow the instructions in the README file after unpack the garnome-2.8.0.tar.bz2
2. set the /etc/wgetrc to enable proxies (set the ftp_proxy, http_proxy & use_proxy) if behind a firewall
3. when encounting problems, try to make sure that your environment matches the requirement, i.e. you may need docbook-xsl-1.66.0.tar.gz

WinFS will be released after 'longhor'. The beta of WinFS will be released in the period of longhorn's release. 'Avalon' (the new presentation subsystem) and 'Indigo' (the new communication subsystem) will be also available on Win XP and 2003 in 2006.
