March was a big month for traffic to the 188 OpenSolaris Jive discussion forums (access the forums here or here). We have new records for total web views (1,718,699), unique visitors (1,530,201), threads (2,104), and messages (8,243). A record month on all four metrics. I guess it was the Starter Kit driving most of the traffic, but I'm sure the OGB election and constitution ratification contributed as well. I doubt we'll top March for at least a few months since it was a pretty big jump. Anyway, here are the graphs for total views and unique visitors since we opened ...

Comments:

Unfortunately I had to stop reading the OpenSolaris mailing list. Not enough cycles to go around.

Of course, now that GPL3 has a new revision, I suppose the discussions will be renewed in vigor.

I also think things will get better with Ian around.

On a personal note: How's your daughter doing? My son is 21 months and just loves to kick the soccer ball around. He also loves to say no and just ignore us. We're improving our "timeout" techniques.

Yah, it's tough to keep up with the traffic unless you are directly involved in some part of the community. And there's a *lot* more traffic to come, too. Re GPLv3: That seems to be pretty quiet for now, which is good. :) And my kid is almost 2 now! Her fav work is "dame" which in Japanese means "NO!" I guess it's the same all over the world. But things are going well. Thanks for asking.

I've been cathing up on the list. I'm up to March 20... only about 300 messages to go :|

I know "dame" real well. It's a favorite of my wife's. That and "Hayaku", which Viggo says "aku"...

Hayaku is very, very common here, too! :) Amazing ...
