Yes, I know, I promised I wouldn't post my vacation pictures on my blog, but this one was just to good to resist. I'll be very brief.
Fifteen passengers and 5 boatman put in to the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry about 10 miles south of Lake Powell, named for the brave explorer who first traversed the Grand Canyon in 1869. We spent five days of perfect weather on the chilly (55 degrees) river enjoying smooth water and rough. The river was surrounded by cliffs up to 2500 feet high. The food was great and prepared by our boatmen each night. It included steaks, fish, fettuccine, salad, fruit and nightly dessert. The nights were cool sleeping under the stars on the riverside beaches. Our sleeping companions included scorpions, tarantulas and at least one rattlesnake that we found four feet from my head one morning. The valley was also populated with bighorn sheep, deer, ducks, rainbow trout and falcons.
In addition to floating on the big 18 foot rafts, we also got to take turns on a smaller inflatable kayak or a catamaran style inflatable boat called a "shredder." The waves were great!
We enjoyed daily hikes into side canyons to hunt for indian ruins and petroglyphs, final resting places of long dead river runners as well as hidden waterfalls. The last day included a 7.8 mile hike from the inner gorge to the south rim (4500 feet up) and back to civilization capped with a few cold beers. It took 5.5 hours but provided great views of the canyon and wildlife as well as a few mule trains passing us on the way down.
The staff of Moki Mac took great care of us and there were only a few involuntary dunkings in the cold river.

Being in an evironmental friendly company. Working protection against the dangerous plague of identity theft is a paper shredder. A paper shredder will help us in disposing of sensitive documents that are no longer needed.

Working and maintaining security throughout the office. I Placed shredder next to the copier or printer, these shredder models will stop information leak before it starts.

The saleman told me from whom I bought the shredder. All office shredders roll on casters for convenient sharing among offices. Every shredder model has a 10-year warranty on cutting heads and can take staples and paper clips which saves office stationary too.

Living in Florida there was an urgent need of shredder in the office so I called up the saleman who told me there was No sales tax on purchases delivered out of California! 10 year warranty on cutting heads & 1 year warranty on mechanical parts (parts only)!

In a civil case, a judge can allow the jury to question a document-destroying party’s intentions. For example, judges in certain cases will tell jurors they should assume missing documents are harmful simply because they were destroyed–even if they never see the contents.

Yeah, I don't know about all the shredder comments, but that aside, it looked like a great trip. 55-degree water? Balmy. Last time I was down at the river it was 44 degree water. I've backpacked from the south and north rims down to Phantom Ranch a number of times, staying at Bright Angel campground at the ranch. I've also done 5-day packs from up-creek in Utah down Paria canyon to Lee's Ferry. I haven't rafted it yet but a number of friends are major river rats and do the Canyon a couple times a year on private permits. I recall the Bright Angel trail being about 9 miles, but that must be measured from the ranch - did you guys stop in there?

Hey pal, really awesome stuff from you people, made me do my chores with great ease. I am a home user and had some issues with my shredder but cleared everything after reading these amazing posts
