OpenJDK Regression Test Harness (jtreg) - open source
I'm pleased to announce that the OpenJDK Regression Test Harness, also known as jtreg, is now available with an open source license, instead of the earlier binary code license. We've bumped the jtreg version number up to 4.0 because we've also changed jtreg to use the open source version of Sun's JavaTest harness. The open source version of JavaTest is called JT Harness, and JT Harness 4.1.3 was recently released, with an updated license that makes it easier to incorporate in jtreg. Apart from the change to use JT Harness, and a few minor bug fixes, it is otherwise the same jtreg as before.
For now, the source is just available in a source bundle, available from the OpenJDK jtreg pages. In time, I hope we can make a repository available as well.
Many thanks to all those who worked to make this possible, including David, Iris, Karl, Mark R, Mark W, Uday, Xiomara, and others on the OpenJDK team; Brian, Kevin, Mike and Sergey on the JT Harness team, and the Sun legal folk as well.
