Just got a call, there were about 7 bomb blasts in Mumbai Railway in Borivali, Khar, Bandra, Bhayander, Jogeshwari, Matunga, Santa Cruz. News sites are busy and heard mobiles are not working in Mumbai but Landlines are holding on.

CNet has an interesting article today. Massachusetts to adopt 'open' desktop . More information can be found on mass.gov website. It seems OpenOffice.org 2.0 is already starting to have a following before the release.
I am actually more interested in its reporting features now that it is more usable with a backend database.

The price of software on UltraSPARC IV is key to many customers. As per the latest eweek.com news , Sun & Microsoft gets it right. Pricing per socket is the right way to go rather than pricing per core. But Oracle and IBM are still lagging behind with their pricing policies of their databases.

If only we could get SQL Server on Solaris :-)

BBC reported that Linux/Mainframe was used in the Microsoft's "Get the Facts" ad campaign. Microsoft should try comparing it with Linux/x86 or Solaris/x86.

As per Gartner, Sun has the highest growth rate in terms of units shipped (38.4%). While Dell has the highest growth rate in revenue (20.1%).

So how do you interpret this result? Sun is selling more at a cheaper price.

So who is getting more benefit? Sun Customers of course.

Way to go.
