Project OpenDMK now includes the SNMP Runtime

I am very pleased to announce that we have now a new release of Project OpenDMK which includes the Java DMK SNMP Runtime.

The SNMP Runtime are those API classes in Project OpenDMK that will let you send SNMP requests and implement SNMP agents.

Some classes in the SNMP Runtime are still encumbered, so we have put in place a binary plug, much in the same spirit of what was done for OpenJDK.

The majority of the code in Project OpenDMK (including SNMP classes) is released under open source licenses - except for the few classes contained in the binary plug - which for now are released under a binary license. Check out the Download Page for more details.

This is a great day!

Cheers,
-- daniel

Hello,

I have a question related to a research that I am working on. I am
trying to get power state information about hosts in a certain
network. Is there any MIBs tables that can help get information like a
host's standby and hibernate settings. I also need to know if the host
is busy, idle or asleep. Is it possible to get such information using
snmp? if the answer is yes, what are the MIBs tables that I can use? I
appreciate any help and hints.

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to use OpenDMK with Java 6, but I'm hitting a synchronization problem when trying to remove entries from tables. Has anyone had success using OpendDMK under Java 6? Anyone hit synchronization issues with Java 6.

It all runs fine under Java 5.

Thanks,
Joe
