Writing MXBeans Is Now a Child's Play!

...as demonstrated by Eamonn in his blog 'What is an MXBean?' about this enhanced JMX Mustang's feature.

Some weeks ago I wrote a few words about the design choices that lead to the definition of the singleton ThreadMXBean. Eamonn McManus, JMX Spec Lead, has just released a blog about one of the most interesting enhancements of the JMX API coming with Java SE 6 (Mustang): Support for MXBeans is now directly integrated in the MBeanServer - and writing MXBeans has become a child's play!

In ' What is an MXBean?' Eamonn explains all the advantages that MXBeans will bring to your JMX instrumentation. His blog can also help you better understand the workings of the JVM Monitoring and Management API - which was using a not-yet-exposed MXBean framework in Tiger.

This is a great article for the JMX Sphere!

BTW: Have you tried out the just released Java SE 6 - Mustang Beta? Go and get it!
