I’ve just arrived back in Virginia after a rather exhausting couple of weeks of attending conferences, presenting at conferences and meeting many of the technology leaders of sun.
I arrived at Sun via a 120 person startup, before that I did my time in the telecom world spending over 12years at BT, MCI and Concert (both MCI and ATT flavours – and yes I’m a brit as you might of guessed from the spelling :-). The reason for the background is I’m just amazed and stunned at the intensity of Sun compared to other companies I’ve worked for.
The Customer Engineering Conference (CEC) is an annual event held in the Moscone center San Francisco. It’s held over a weekend with over 3000 folks attending from all over sun (globally). Most of the sessions I attended were standing room only, some of them spilled over into the hallways with people standing for over an hour to watch the proceedings. These sessions range from strategic speakers covering roadmap items to deep technology dives into debugging apps with dtrace. I’m sure that I am 20 IQ points smarter just being in the room with this many passionate technologists.
All I can say is WOW. Take a look at Kristien’s blog if you want to see a much more detailed write up of CEC from .

Welcome to the blogging world - I'm looking forward to your insights. I'm seeing a huge interest in the marketplace for remote services to Sun/customer assets. js
