New role
Its certainly been a busy few weeks since my last post both with travel and also moving into a new role.
The travel has been very rewarding, i've spent some quality time with partners in EMEA and in the US. I'm looking forward to visiting our APAC region to do the same shortly. Sun's messaging around management services really seems to be resonating well, in fact one partner I spent some time with in Ashburn, VA played back what he needed from Sun - the great news was it looked like someone slipped him an early version of my presentation! Its really great to see this kind of alignment from one of our most important communities. I also spent some time with key customers discussing the roadmap for our services, again very positive feedback especially around what we are calling "Intimate IT" (more on this in a future blog post)
On the new role front, I am thrilled to be moving into the CTO position for Global Customer Services. This is doubly good for me, both in an opportunity to learn more of our services business but also still keep close ties with our managed operations team.
I'm really looking forward to our FY07.
