Sun joins the Service Research and Innovation Initiative (SRII)
I just realized i've not blogged for a few months! I'm not sure what happens to the time these days, so many things going on at Sun.
Sun has been involved in the Service Support Professional Association (SSPA) for a while, in fact our APAC organization was recognized with a SSPA Star Award for Best OnSite Support, with a runner up award for our Americas team for best value-added support a couple of moths ago.
The folks behind SSPA along with the TPSA based on feedback from the community have formed a new community called the SRII. Its focus is to increase funding, research and collaboration among organizations (commercial, government and academia).
I'm very excited that Sun has joined the advisory board and I'll be acting as Sun's board member. The first symposium has already taken place to kick off the community with many great speakers. I particularly enjoyed congressman Mike Honda's view on the changing face of government and education as it relates to the evolving services industry and a really excellent presentation by advisory board member Walter Ganz from the Fraunhofer Institute showing some cutting edge techniques used to improve the service experience and launch the right services first time.
I'm very excited to roll my sleeves up and push forward with the collaboration. For more info on SRII please check out http://www.thesrii.org or the press release from SRII/Sun on our membership.
