Great news, a preview of Project Indiana is available for downloading at opensolaris.org. I've already run the LiveCD OS... It seems great and is working really fine. I'm thinking about installing it on my hard drive to try better its functions.

Tech Demos Scheduled!

We've already made one last Friday, 19. Next Friday we'll repeat it. In the middle of this week, we will do two more presentations at the Superior Institute of Technology at Quintino (out of our University), still at Rio de Janeiro. There we will do two different tech demos: Today we will present “Innovating with Solaris and open source technologies”. Wednesday will be “Java and NetBeans – Practical development, robust solutions”.

Depois de registrar, voltem na página inicial e cliquem em Request a DVD na caixa laranja entitulada 'OpenSolaris Starter Kit' conforme a figura abaixo:

Se você não estiver logado, efetue o login. Você será levado para a página de detalhes de envio do DVD, como nome, endereço, email e etc.

Preencham tudo e marquem que vocês são estudantes. Cliquem em 'Submit Address' e depois confirmem.

Pronto, vocês receberão uma mensagem de confirmação e será enviado um e-mail com as confirmações de envio. Os DVDs chegarão dentre 2 a 4 semanas.

We are scheduling to distribute the OpenSolaris Mini Books.

I will next send them instruction for registering at opensolaris.org to make them able to ask for free starter kits. We will create a separate e-mail group to deal about the OSUG subjects.

We are starting our OSUG at UFRJ. Six people are in the boat. We plan to increase it at our next Tech Demo!
The first step is signing them up on opensolaris.org and ask for their Starter Kits.

Hi!

Again... long time without writing... I'm not such a blogger, actually. I'm doing things with OpenSolaris distributions now... installing them and testing things
I installed Nexenta Alpha 7 on the VmWare and then installed the Looking Glass 3D on it... it took me some time to install manually with quite some issues but It was all working in the end... the performance was not so good, even using a good configuration, but I could see how lg3d works.
Now I'm going to install Belenix 0.6 and try running comzip even without a nvidia graphic card... I don't know what will I do but I will try something...
I crashed my Nevada Solaris Developer Edition too... XD... I just tried to make it work with lower resolutions but now the only resolution I can use is the black terminal screen with many boring issues because of keyboard configuration problems too... I guess it is reversible... so I hope.
The work at NACAD is not very motivating right now... I'm doing stupid things like equipment listing and moving boxes. Anyway, a next step seems to be nicer.
