Storage R Us

"Language is Use" .. now if we could only apply the same idea to software, hardware, solutions, and ideas we develop.

I didn't do the ipod .. yet .. actually i'm glad i waited since they dropped a new one on the market, but i still can't bring myself to drop $400 on a 40gb usb drive with hip wrappings and a DRM mpeg4 encoder/decoder

i think i'll just stick with my old trusty minilaptop and my homebuilt 40gb minidrive which i just gentoo-d (was a dual boot JDS/hacked up rh7.2/8):

.. actually the new U series seems pretty slick .. i like that they dropped the mini keyboard (i always feel like my hands are in a 3 finger lock when i'm typing) and went for a foldable and stylus .. but the max 800x600 LCD is kinda sucky compared to the old 1024x768 display on the U1/U3/U101 series, but the battery uptime would be most cool .. maybe next time i'm in akihabara ..

now if only we would embed java in something like this or possibly in nvram? .. might also be nice to have native support in the kernel ..
