The war is full blown now. Come September 2, India has to vote for making Microsoft OOXML as an ISO standard. I hope we dont. At the moment Sun and IBM are battling it out against Microsoft. More details in this Economic Times soty - "MS, IBM-Sun slug it out on standard text format".
What a load of crap!
ODF should win because it is a better format...not because some stupid politicians voted to make it a standard.
If a bad format wins only because someone voted for it, we will all be losers.

Let me clarify - I hope India does not vote for OOXML.
