Love Actually

4 stars (out of 5).

What a sweet movie, with just enough bittersweet to keep it from going totally over the top. Even the porn star lovebirds were... touching. (Sorry! :)

Not really a movie you want to watch with your kids, he says with 20/20 hindsight -- Lizzie was kind enough to yell "DADDY, CLOSE YOUR EYES!!" at all the right moments -- but for all that, it didn't feel trashy. It was tender, actually...

I'd agree, a shockingly good film. I'd agree that you definately don't want to watch it with your kids. But, all the acting was excellent. And, the beauty of the film is that with so many diffrent stories (almost 8?) intertwined even if you thought one story was stupid (the artist) or silly (the stand-ins) or aggrivating (the sister) or whathaveyou, there were enough stories moving quickly enough along that you could find something you liked. Sweet, romantic, tragic, aggrivating, annoying, disturbing... the film just had it all. And, all in all, was really really funny. Probly the best "I laughed... I cried..." film in almost 10 years, sadly enough.

I really enjoyed this film as well. So many cute, sweet, touching moments in so many stories -- but never cloyingly so. I loved so many of the performances.
