Copying an iso image to a CD from Solaris

By now, many of you in the opensource community are probably aware of the OpenSolaris Developer Preview release by Sun on Oct 31st, 2007. There are many blog posts and lively discussions on the indiana-discuss, opensolaris-discuss and other forums on OpenSolaris regarding this release.

The downloadable iso image is available here. I inserted a blank CD (The application to write to a CD starts automatically) and burned the iso image from my laptop running SXDE 9/07.

You can also copy images using the cdrw command. From the man pages :

DESCRIPTION
The cdrw command provides the ability  to  create  data  and
audio CDs. This command also provides the ability to extract
audio tracks from an audio CD and to create data  DVDs.  The
CD or DVD device must be MMC-compliant to create a CD or DVD
     with the cdrw command.

Refer to the man pages to learn more about this command.

Read the Indiana documentation and the Image Packaging System documentation before you try out the OpenSolaris Developer preview. Let us know what you think.
