Vasu Karunanithi and I delivered a S10 boot camp at Marriott in Rancho Cordova on 5/18. Tanya Worthington who coordinated this boot camp told me that she had the best turn out rate ever - 60 out of 75 registered showed up! Thanks to you all who came to the boot camp.

Normally it's unusual to see more than 3 familiar faces in the audience at any boot camps I spoke. This time is different - ~10 of my old customers (friends :-) from PG&E and McKesson were there too. What a wonderful surprise! Terry, Bob, Donovan, Tom... I felt mush less nervous when seeing you all in the crowd. ;-) I also had a gret time chatting and catching up with you all. Take care.

Here are the slide decks from Vasu Karunanithi and I:

Bryan Boden and Tony Sikes, the two SSEs in Oklahoma City, went beyond their normal duty to put a S10 Boot Camp together within two weeks. Not only we had the best facility - Meinders Business School auditorium in OKC University but also got a good number of attendees - 43 people showed up for the boot camp. And of course, they also invited Keith Ray (Territory Manager from Sun) and JD Leeds (SR from Lumenate) to sponsor the breakfast and lunch. Bryan and Tony, thanks for your great work!

Vasu Karunanithi and I went to visit a customer in OKC a day before the boot camp so we just stayed another day for the 4/12 boot camp. It's been raining for days in the Bay Area so it's wonderful to see the sunny OKC for a change. Here are the slide decks:
Thanks to those who came to the boot camp! Hope you all got a chance to look at our latest coolthread server T2000 that Tony and Bryan brought to the auditorium too.

We had about 45 people attending the Boise boot camp. Some of you are really early birds - arrived before 8am. Wow! That's a record for any of my field and customer boot camps! Never seen people arrived this early and stayed the whole time. Thank you all for coming. I also like to thank Joe Petty who is a Sun Engagement Manger in the Portland office. He came and brought some surprising drawing prizes. Nice! :-) Here are the slide decks:

Thanks!

  • ZFS Overview & Demo - Kimberly Chang (will publish the slides after ZFS is ready for SolarisExpress)
I am glad that we had a full one hour for the container piece this time so we could go over the demo and Q&A without rush. Thank you for your participation in asking all the questions. This is how you and I learn! We appreciate your coming and staying with us for the whole 5 hours. Thanks again.

One of the most fun things working at Sun is that I can try new thing and learn new thing every day! Blog is one of the new things that I am learning and trying today. Thanks to my teammate Bob Netherton's reminder, I can use blog to communicate with my customers, answer questions and post my presentations here. This is why I started blogging today. :-)
