| Electric Bike | Life |
I was at CostCo yesterday and they had a live demo of an electric bike from
Tidal Force. This is a slightly
less powerful version of a bike used by police and the military.
They claim that, on a full charge, the bike can go 20 mph for 20 miles without the rider having to pedal. Obviously, if the rider pedals, the battery will last much longer. Like an electric car, braking helps to recharge the battery.
And while the website doesn't say so, the salesman was implying that comsumers may be able to purchase an extra battery, giving them a "military" upgrade and allowing the bike to go up to 30 mph.
The price for this baby was still a little high. CostCo's prices were $1699 for the low end $1999 for the next level up.
