Send A Message To Scotty In Space

James Doohan, who played Scotty on Star Trek is being "buried" in space. You can send along a digitized message along with his remains when they are blasted into space in December 2005.

Scotty and Sulu where my two favorite characters on Star Trek. As an engineer myself, I've always appreciated those who do the real work, even if they don't get the accolades or the fame.

According to George Takei, Doohan himself said, "Scotty is 99 percent me and 1 percent accent." So I guess that means that I would have like James Doohan himself. Happy travels, James!

I met you at a convention lobby about 5 hours before the convention in toronto. You sat on a bench in the empty lobby with me and talked for 45 mins. later that night you laughed when i came to get your autograph and wondered why I did not ask you for it in the lobby. I was so dumbfounded you spent so much time talking to me I had forgotten to ask. That was a memory I will always hold dear. Sleep amoung the stars my friend, I feel your in for a great new adventure.
