Things I Never Thought I'd Have To Reboot Computers

Honestly, did you ever think you'd have to reboot any of the following things?

  • Camera
  • Cell phone
  • Television
  • TV Remote
  • PDA

My computer is one of the few things that I don't have to reboot anymore.

Coming soon, look forward to having to reboot these:

  • Refrigerator
  • Car
  • Book
  • Girlfriend

Cross two off your list of things to come. Ebook readers may need to be rebooted, especially when reading James Joyce.

I had to reboot my car once. Though no basic functions were affected in my case, the possibility of that for a drive-by-wire car where the computer controls throttle, transmission, and brake, led to a factory recall for a firmware update. I'm glad for Toyota's custom software, as this is one application where "Blue Screen of Death" might be just too literal.

I have all those things except a PDA, and never had to reboot any of them. You must be buying the wrong stuff!

I don't think I've ever had to "thing" something. How often do you "thing"? (For those of you reading this after Kevin has [hopefully] edited this entry, it once read "...did you ever thing you'd have to reboot...")

For some folks isn't listing both "girlfriend" and "computer" a little redundant?
