Too Old To Be A Terrorist? Humor

Old TerroristIf you're 43 years old you are too old to be a terrorist!

Or so says the US Department of Homeland Security when it unveiled its latest plans for the REAL ID.

Americans born after Dec. 1, 1964, will have to get more secure driver's licenses in the next six years under ambitious post-9/11 security rules to be unveiled Friday by federal officials.

So, while I'll still need to get a Real ID, some of my older school mates won't have to.  I guess they are all too busy downing Geritol and watching Matlock to be a threat.

Oh, perhaps someone should tell Michael Chertoff that Osama bin Laden was born on March 10, 1957.  He won't need to get a new ID.

Hmmmm...Does this mean us middle-aged folks will be allowed to carry on full sized Head & Shoulders now?

Yay! First time I was ever glad to be old! I'm *just* on the other side of the cut-off point.

Let's see, the claim is that the REAL ID is somehow more secure than the current ID's, right? Harder to counterfeit? Okay, but if you are born after 1964, you can still use the older, easier to counterfeit ID's. What does the ID certify? It matches your face to your name. How do you know if someone is born after 1964? You look at their ID of course! So, if I am a terrorist born after 1964, I think that in addition to changing the
name on the ID, I might be inclined to change the DOB as well. Apparently the government
hasn't thought of that.
