Final(?) draft of the Accessibility Guidelines for Implementations of Open Document Format v1.1 availableIn addition to our peer-review of the OASIS Open Document Format, the OASIS ODF Accessibility Subcommittee is also charged with development of Accessibility Guidelines relating to ODF. I'm delighted to report that what I hope is the final draft of the Accessibility Guidelines for Implementations of Open Document Format v1.1 is now available. This ~50 page document describes the accessibility features of ODF v1.1 and how applications that implement support for ODF should utilize them. It also contains some information for authors, but primarily it is for ODF implementors. It also contains a fairly lengthy glossary of terms, and a description of accessibility and assistive technologies, as we don't presume that all ODF implementors will have that knowledge. After we do a final check of this draft, we will post it prominently so that all ODF implementors will likely see it (and hopefully thoroughly read it and abide by its recommendations!).
