Converting from Teamware, a bitter pill
Converting from Teamware, a bitter pill
It's finally happening, Sun development teams are starting to consider converting their old dusty reliable Teamware workspaces to something else. The productivity that Teamware provided over the years cannot be underestimated, it was a great tool, with some great features, but it's time to move on. Getting people to change all the Teamware commands that have been burnt into their brains, and trade them for something else will be a rough transition. Some people accept change easier than others, but hopefully this change will carry with it some benefits that might make the bitter pill easier to swallow.
The OpenSolaris team studied the issue of converting in great detail, and now the JDK team is looking at the OpenSolaris choice of Mercurial.
