This time we targeted I.T World ( A hundred PC Browsing cafe in HUBLI, which has the highest student attendance than our college itself!! ) and other PC vendors.(Ambit systems,Gouri computers).
I don't have any words to say about your efforts. This is just fantastic. I'm sure you can do lot many things under the guidance of Prof. Desai and Rajesh.
Keep up the great spirit. Plan to attend Sun Tech Days as well. You could able to meet and attend lot many things.

This month was a vacation month in BVBCET, The end sem exams were over on 7th of Jan
So we went for one more session of SUN Open Install Mania,
We distributed OpenCDs & DVDs to the browsing centre, and gave a demo on how to install the apps,
we also put up posters/banners to prohibit software piracy and go for FOSS
As stated in previous mails, we entered into a sort of mutual agreement with the PC vendors to pre-install SUN Studio/Netbeans in case of Engg students.
The photos are on their way.. as per the previous mail I would be submitting reports for reimbursement.
I had a discussion with Umesh (CA Bagalkot) & Pooja (CA Belgaum) and we have chalked out various colleges for Road show events, the list includes
1) P.C.Jabin institute of science (B.C.A & B.Sc CS)
2) H.S.K institute of tech
3) SDMCET
4) K.L.E Polytech college
5) J.T College Gadag
6) R.E.C Hulkoti
7) Engg colleges in Belgaum & Bagalkot
and more to come...
I had an appointment with the placement officer of P.C.Jabin College. and we have tentatively booked a day in the first week of Feb, for the road show.
Me and Ashwin (CA of NITK Surathkal), have planned an open Demo on Solaris, during Engineer 08 in NITK (Feb 15th & 16th ).
(We would be requiring some give aways/goodies and DVDs for the roadshows, so please make arrangements )
The plans for SUN Software Week in Belgaum Engg college & Bagalkot are into finalizing stage. We will soon decide and intimate a cemented date.
We will be having Opensparc Workshop on 23rd Feb in BVBCET, We will try and include the nearby Engg colleges, invitation letters are on their way..
We have many things coming up in Feb and March, I need great support as ever!!
