WE WON! WE WON!
Of all the things...A 2006 Codie Award for OpenSolaris!

What a great achievement for an open source community that isn't even a year old yet! Heck, we were 6 months old when we were nominated!

Some might not know what the Codie awards are...They are software industry awards given by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).  And the cool thing is that these are peer awards...the votes are cast by SIIA members. That's other companies in the software industry. Our "hometown" so to speak.

Sun won in two categories--and competition was stiff in both:

Best Open Source Solution: OpenSolaris.
Best Software Development Solution: NetBeans
