knl ...I'm a big fan of the movie Napoleon Dynamite. It's an acquired taste, but re-watching it is worth catching new detail. Anyway, if you're patient enough to get through the credits at the end of the movie, you're treated to a hilarious clip of Kip and LaFawnduh's wedding:

I've seen this clip a few times and while I find it hilarious, I've had this nagging feeling that I had witnessed a simliar couple being married a while back. Who in the heck does Kip and LaFawnduh remind me of?! Then it hits me! To be read in a Nancy Kerrigan just been wacked in the kneecaps with a lead-pipe tone: Oh dear Lord! No! No! No! I know who that couple reminds me of! Me and my circa 1991 groom! But tell me it's not the same exact dress Dear Lord, please tell me this and I'll go become a nun right now! I pray to all that is holy that LaFawnduh's cheezy dress isn't the same! Is it?!

mnl Um...well, yeah it kind of is...minus a couple subtle changes not visible to the naked eye...it is the same 1980's on-steroids, sleeves puffier than basketballs, never to be passed down to my daughter dress! And if the dress and white tuxedo weren't bad enough, in our wedding photo, Mike looks remarkably similar to Kip. Damn those 80's!

Just so y'all don't have the above image burned into your memories forever, here's proof that we were wise enough to abandon our 1980's mis-stylings:

Wow. There is an awfully strong resemblance. Hopefully your husband didn't serenade you about his love for technology.

You look like a Meringue :-) (To be read with heavy Liverpool accent, as in 4-Weddings and a Funeral) :-)

Well done!

You can still pass your dress down. She can just remove a few yards of ruffles and layers of crinoline.
