harsh-lesson...dogs and small, expensive, leather covered gadgets don't mix.

Our 11-year-old was granted early access to her iPod Nano to allow her time to load it up before a Christmas visit to my parents. Lola, our greyhound also gained access to the tempting, chew-toy sized gadget. I'm thinking the protective leather carrying case backfired as a chew toy disguise.

The good news is, blogging has once again proven to be theraputic, but I'm still bitter. Lesson learned: smaller isn't always better for pricey gadgets - especially in the hands of young people still developing a sense of responsibility (not that adults, like myself, aren't prone to gadget abuse).

Will I replace it? Perhaps (and perhaps not), but if I do, the replacement will be bigger and cheaper - which hopefully translates in to better durability, less risk of loss, and less loss if lost or destroyed. AND, it won't be covered in leather!

PS...If someone can make out a divine figure on the LCD, please let me know. Perhaps there is an eBay resell opportunity. ;-)

I would argue that dogs *are* small, expensive, leather covered gadgets! :)

According to Consumer Reports Magazine the "i-River" players rate very high. I have the Creative Sound "Muvo" player that is a good value. There is life beyond I-pod...
