tea-house Lame-o excuse for late delivery disclaimer: I wanted to post this during the holiday break, but betweeen all the Colorado blizzards, challenging holiday travel & increased holiday socializing, I managed to contract Viral Gastroenteritis (a prettier term for "stomach flu"), then it took me a while to get my groove on and catch up post holiday break. BTW, if you want to be the rock star for a loved one recovering from the stomach flu, make them this chicken noodle soup -- a super simple, yummy recipe, tho' I use bow tie pasta and double the veggies.

Anywho, every December, I organize a holiday afternoon tea at the Boulder Dushanbe Tea House for the Colorado-based folks in the .Sun Organization (AKA Curtis Sasaki & Company). 2006 marked the 4th anniversary of this fantastically fun and hoity-toity event.

Here are some pics for your enjoyment & an opportunity to attach a face to some of the cool stuff you see on sun.com.

The view from my rear-view mirror as I raced to get to the Tea House on time. I deserved it. 23 over the speed limit -- a 6 point violation, but was given a 4 point violation. I couldn't have done better with this guy if I were a giant chocolate donut.

The stars of the show. The artichoke purses on the top are my fav's:

(left to right) Valorie- Support Mgr AKA Master Problem-Solver, Kristen - Content Mgt Mgr & Stellar Data Architect, Kit - the guy who helps find us talent when we're in a bind, Penny - Sr. Program Manager of sun.com's identity management:

Will - super bright and fun Operations Guy (he's one of the busy-bees who hooks sun.com up with smokin' fast sun.com servers) and Valorie (mentioned above):
tea8

Josef, User Experience/Interface Guru - Like what you see on sun.com? Josef is one to thank. He also lured me to Sun after working together at a bubble 1 dot com:

Rob - Quality Assurance Extraordinaire & Will Blur (mentioned above). The thing that is irreplaceable about Rob is he never wigs out when the QA work collides or when I ask him to sit in on deployment calls that last as long as it takes for Rob to give his rubber stamp. We haven't had to sit on a late night blogs.sun.com deployment for a while partly because of Rob catching bugs early on.

Mr. & Mrs. Levi. Levi is one of Will's master engineers. Levi can solve any web app problem WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. I'm serious, even when he's pissed, he's smiling:

Another genius who can smile while walking through the darkness of hell -- Uche Ogbuji, XML celeb & Kristen (mentioned above):

That's hilarious and scary at the same time! Didn't you worry the cop would get suspicious if he saw you snapping pictures of him, albeit through your rearview mirror...?

Hi Melanie. Yeah, you're probably right. Sometimes I'm like Rainman -- snapping gutsy pictures -- only I do it for my blog.

Thanks for posting the pics. I was forgetting some of the faces.

Thanks for putting these up Linda! :) A note to your intrepid viewers... careful examination of the pictures will reveal "proper pinky posture." ;)

Colorado is a colorful place worth visiting at least once in a life time. It is a cool place and many people visit this place mostly in summer. The dishes shown in the picture are mouth-watering.
