Per
this Washington Post article, the secret sauce of an engaging conversation (based on Oprah's communication success) is summed up in three points:
- Reinforce words with body movements
- Be engaged and involve participants
- Use genuine emotion to feed your message
Seems simple, doesn't it? I'd imagine if one possesses these passion-based characteristics naturally as part of their personality (like, Oprah) or when discussing a topic they are passionate and knowledgeable about, it probably is simple.
When thinking about people I enjoy listening to or communicating with, they too seem to meet all of the above -- and my favorite bloggers meet the last two.
