Toy recall alerts via emails, feeds and podcasts
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has setup a number of ways for parents to easily receive recall alerts via their:
- search page
- recall podcasts
- recall feed
- email announcements (which is also in EspaƱol)

It's GHB! Who's the brilliant guy who suggested putting the date-rape drug into toys?

Kevin, I keep trying to think that this wasn't a heartless, deliberate decision -- that it was caused by something like an unknown result of a chemical reaction or something, but I'm afraid that's just wishful thinking. This, and the ongoing presence of lead in toys from China, is an unfortunate string of occurrences for other toy manufacturers in that region who *do* take necessary precautions to ensure they produce safe products.

As previous comments here are almost a year old, nothing in the toy industry really changed: we still get all these hazardous materials "feeding" into our kids lives. How frustrating...

It seems like there is a new product recall every few days. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on children's toys and household products. I now have a personal file that alerts me to product recalls. I also receive timely notices when one of my products has is an update. You can acesss the recalls and update notices at the product blog page.
