Trip to JavaOne canceled NetBeans

Yesterday, they canceled my trip to JavaOne. I'm really angry. That should be the best JavaOne ever. 3 proposals accepted. I spent some nights preparing the Hands-on lab materials. I feel that the Cloud will kill me. Or at least it is making everything cloudy.

If you are going to J1 then say hello to Golden Gate for me. And enjoy the conference, of course. There is plenty of nice sessions, don't forget to visit some of the parties (Jboss, Glassfish, etc.), and there will be CommunityOne day on Monday again.

Looot of good stuff that I'll miss.

Ahhh that sucks. My work also denied funding for JavaOne. I too am disappointed, especially since this will probably be the last "Sun" JavaOne.

Sorry to hear that, our trip was squashed as well. I was really looking forward to this one.

That sucks! What will happen to your presentations and HOL now?

Lukas, I'm sorry to hear of the broken plans. I'm going to SF for Community One (can't afford a J1 pass on my own), I'll see as many talks as possible, and hoist an Anchor Steam at the Thirsty Bear for you, and hopefully Oracle will throw more resources into J1 to allow you to attend next year!!

Hey Lukas,

That sucks man. I was looking forward to see you again. It's kinda the reason why I go to J1 ;)

I'm lucky to be able to pay for my trip myself, even in these times.

What is going to happen with your accepted submissions and your lab? Will you post it all nonetheless, or will somebody else take over?

Iwan
