Check out zembly!
I keep tripping over lots of articles and links talking about zembly, so I thought I would see what all the hype is about.
Zembly is an application developing environment that is best described (by zembly developers) as "kind of like a wiki, but for applications," because it includes the power of the crowd.
This is how it works -- you've got an idea for an app so you go to zembly where you create and customize your app (they even have templates). Then you publish your app on any of a variety of different platforms to include Facebook, iPhone, Meebo, and Google Gadgets -- among others. The best part is you don't have to worry about hosting, and zembly apps elastically scale on Sun's cloud infrastructure so you don't have to create or max out your own datacenter.
The power of the crowd comes into play on zembly where you can create apps with other users, or use pieces others have already created. You choose the level of collaboration from private to completely open source! The platform is also a great way to connect with other developers who share the same interests as you.
AND, if that weren't enough, there is a contest going on right now where you can win $200 just for trying out zembly and writing a blog about it! How easy is that? So get on over to zembly and check it out -- quickly because the deadline for entries is May 16!
