How to increase your browsers market share So this is Microsoft's way to increase IE8 market share. Just promise to people that they can win a fair amount of money - but only when using their most current, proprietary web browser. Oh - did I already say that this browser would only be available for their proprietary operating system? Hardware vendors often write something like "works best with Windows XP Professional" - will we now see web sites with "works Posted by Malte Timmermann ( Jun 18 2009, 04:13:38 PM CEST ) Permalink Comments [0]
Traffic in Beijing Seems I must revise what I wrote about the traffic here a few days ago - traffic is still very heavy, seems I just watched it the wrong times or places when thinking it would be better nowadays. Today we have been on a tourists tour with around 100 participants from OOoCon, and the ride within the city took very long. We have been to different placces, including the Great Wall. There we had the "pleasure" to have the first snow of this year... Posted by Malte Timmermann ( Nov 08 2008, 03:16:17 PM CET ) Permalink Comments [0]
Who is Malte? OK, after seeing somebody linking to my blog with the words ”a post by (apparently; I don't know the guy personally) a Sun employee working on OpenOffice", I think it's time to introduce myself ;) I started working for StarDivision in 1991. The development of StarWriter for Windows, OS/2, Mac and Motif started in 1990. As you can see, I am working on that project more or less right from the beginning. In the last 15 years I have worked on a lot of different areas in StarOffice. Today, I work as a Technical Architect for Sun's StarOffice/OpenOffice.org Engineering Team in Hamburg. I'm also a member of the OASIS OpenDocument Accessibility Subcommittee. Posted by Malte Timmermann ( Aug 10 2006, 01:13:58 PM CEST ) Permalink Comments [0]
Malte starts blogging... I thought about starting to blog for some time now, but I never got it started. There was the time when all the discussions about OASIS OpenDocument Format and Accessibility arised. Now that all the news about a proof-of-concept virus for OpenOffice.org arise, I feel that I really should start now, because I am also responsible for StarOffice Security. So that's the beginning of Malte's Blog. I don't like to read long blog entries myself, so I promise I will try to keep my blog entries short... ;) Posted by Malte Timmermann ( Jun 06 2006, 06:09:38 PM CEST ) Permalink Comments [0]
