Sun's vision of The Network is The Computer started long before most people had heard of email and before the concept of the web browser had been thought of. Before scientists at
CERN in Geneva Switzerland developed the world wide web, they were using Sun systems to communicate with their peers at the
Stanford Linear Accelerator. Sun has been a global company for most of its 25 year history. While we have long shipped computers around the world, when we opened up our Network.Com utility computing site several years ago, various regulations prevented us from offering services outside of the U.S. Well, that all changed today.
