First a correction on my blog from yesterday. Jay from TACC sent an email reminding me their system will actually be over 60,000 cores. Rounding error, I told him, but do let me know when you get to 100,000. Secondly, several of my AMD friends asked how they could keep up with what's new in Solaris. It is pretty easy, just check out the Flag Days page on OpenSolaris. Yes, we really do develop Solaris as an open source project, and that means features we are putting in for new, not yet released hardware, get documented on OpenSolaris.org. It isn't too difficult to read the source code and learn a few things about our upcoming commodity server products.
