Sun Grid Engine News
While Sun Grid Engine continues to provide multi-OS support, it is now part of the Solaris organization and a key part of Sun's HPC on Solaris plan. A couple of interesting Sun Grid Engine updates.
Earlier this week, Univa launched their Open Source Cluster Solution which is an integrated HPC stack based on Sun Grid Engine, Ganglia, Rocks, and Globus.
In an unrelated move, Sun is no longer offering Sun Grid Engine 6.0 for free download. What! Don't panic. We actually have something better for you. Our web page update process can't quite keep up with the pace of Solaris engineering, but if you click on the link to download Sun Grid Engine 6 you will see what I mean. We will get out an official announcement next week so I won't say more here. Those that are interested can find out for themselves.
